54th Annual Spring Art Show

Plans are currently underway for our 54th Annual Spring Art Show which will be held the month of April, 2012.

Download the registration form here or pick one up at the Gallery at 411 West Main Street, Mandan, ND.

An open house reception will be held the first Saturday, April 7th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the gallery.

Awards will be given for Best of Show, Gallery Award, and Creativity Award. The People’s Choice award will be given to the entry that receives the most votes from the people attending the show.

It’s not to early to get your entries ready. Let’s make this another successful show.

New gallery display agreement

Beginning in January, 2012 the MAA Gallery will no longer charge a display fee to show your work in the gallery.  You must be a current member of MAA to display and MAA will deduct 20% commission on all sales.  For further information contact MAA at mandanartassociation@yahoo.com or call 751-4331 (gallery).

MAA is actively seeking new artists to display their work in our gallery and gift shop.  If you have items that you have created and are interested in showing them for sale, contact us.

Award winners for the Miniature Art Show

Barb Nechiporenko’s oil painting entitled “North Unit” won both the Best of Show and the People’s Choice Award.  Vicki Benzmiller’s China painting entitled “Autumn Leaf” won the Gallery Award and Ali LaRock won the Creativity Award with her piece “Untitled”.

MAA is hosting their second annual miniature art show from Dec 1 through Dec 31st at the gallery at 411 West Main St, Mandan, ND.  Stop in and view the great displays of art – small in size but large in talent and creativity.  Open house reception is Saturday, Dec 3 from 10 am to 2 pm.  Refreshments will be served.  Register for door prized.  Vote for your favorite piece for the People’s Choice Award.  Winners for the Best of Show, Gallery and Creativity Award will be posted soon.

The 53rd Annual Spring Art Show returns April 1-29 now at its new location, the Mandan Art Gallery.

The Art Association kicks off this year’s event with a reception on April 1, 5-7 p.m.  The reception is free and includes baked goods and live acoustic music from Jay Lardinois and friends.

More than  65 works,  from 30 some artist members and non-members are promised for our longest running annual event

All items will be for sale in this year’s show. Plus, Mandan Art will award prizes for Best of Show, Gallery Award, and  Creativity Award. Gallery visitors will vote to select the final prize: The People’s Choice Award. Stop by the gallery during regular business hours until April 29 to pick your favorite.

Charlene Jones will judge this year’s entries.

The Spring Art Show  is sponsored in part by The North Dakota Council on the Arts, which is the state agency responsible for the support and development of the arts throughout North Dakota, and is funded by the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Mandan Art Association’s First Annual Miniature Art Show closed at the end of the 2010, but we wanted to congratulate the winners one last time and thank everybody for participating. The show brought fresh talent and ideas to the gallery and we have already announced plans for another miniature event in fall of 2011.

Paul Noot won the Creativity Award for his multimedia work, Eye Contact.
Carolyn Pickard Handy won the Gallery Award for her work, Quiet View.
